The Van Will Pay for Itself (Eventually): 4. The Van as a Spa Retreat (on Wheels)

Poetic fragments for sensory charm and absurd luxury

No need for fancy getaways.
We’ve got eucalyptus oil, a footstool,
and a window that opens to birdsong.
Luxury is a mindset.
And a well-placed blanket.

The van becomes a spa by suggestion.
A towel warmed by sunlight.
A mug of herbal tea brewed with intention.
A silence so deep,
it exfoliates your nervous system.

We’ll call it “mobile wellness.”
We’ll say, “This is the steam room,”
while boiling pasta and misting lavender
into the emotional atmosphere.

No queues. No robes.
Just the kind of intimacy
that comes from sharing a loofah
and a compost bin.

We’ll design rituals:
foot soaks in washing-up bowls,
face masks made of mashed banana,
and affirmations whispered
while brushing crumbs off the duvet.

The van doesn’t need marble tiles.
It needs intention.
And maybe a playlist called
“Spa Vibes for People Who Live in Vans.”

And when someone asks,
“Isn’t that a bit… rustic?”
we’ll smile,
gesture to the mossy layby,
and say,
“This is five-star emotional repair.”
