Sgùrr na Carnach, “rocky peak,” is the central Munro on the legendary Five Sisters of Kintail ridge, a sculptural skyline that arcs above Glen Shiel with mythic symmetry. Once classified as a Munro Top, it was promoted to full Munro status in 1997. Nestled between Sgùrr na Ciste Duibhe and Sgùrr Fhuaran, it’s often reached as part of a linear traverse, offering steep grassy slopes, airy ridges, and cinematic views across Loch Duich and the Rough Bounds.
